CDC needs contractor services to create a technical and training center for the Legacy for Children parent training curriculum developed by the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).  Legacy is a parent-focused intervention approach aimed at improving child outcomes by fostering positive parenting among low-income mothers.  UCLA was responsible for the developement and implementation of the Legacy University of California, Los Angeles curriculum.  UCLA has the specific background, expertise, and familiarity with the program, and is uniquely qualified to provide CDC ongoing technical assistance and training in a timely, proficient, and cost effective manner.  Consequently, it is believed that UCLA is the sole souce having the unique capabilities which will meet the above mentioned requirements of the CDC.  It is the intent of CDC to award a contract to UCLA if this is found to be true.
