Lease Renewal
The U.S. Government currently occupies office and related space in a building located at 55 Whitney Street in New Haven, Connecticut that will be expiring on July 18, 2014. The existing lease has a 5 year renewal option which the Government intends to exercise. The office and related space yields 3293 ANSI/BOMA office area (ABOA) square feet.
The Government has determined it to be financially beneficial to exercise the lease renewal option and negotiate the lease renewal terms with the existing Lessor. In making this determination, the Government considered, among other things, the availability of alternate space that potentially can satisfy the Government's requirements, as well as costs likely to be incurred through relocating, such as the physical move costs, replication of tenant improvements and telecommunications infrastructure, and non-productive agency downtime.
