This combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items is prepared in accordance with the format at FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested.


The solicitation number for this request for this request for quotations (RFQ) is W913E5-17-T-0008.


The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 333242, which has a size standard of 1,500 employees. This requirement is a Total Small Business Set-Aside in accordance with FAR 19.502-2.


The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) has a requirement to laser engraver/etcher with the following salient characteristics:

a) Capable of an engraving area no less than 30" x 24" without repositioning the   sample;


b) Capable of etching a wide variety of materials including stone, glass, metals, wood, plastics, granite, etc.);


c) Laser Power: 100W or more to ensure rapid etching speeds on various materials;


d) The apparatus should be set up to have a separate cart which can wheel in new materials to be etched under the laser easily;


e) Portable and able to etch any surface that it is resting on;


f) Software shall be included to create designs for etching and also import standard designs for etching (jpeg, CAD, or other formats);


g) USB port to access and import digital designs;


h) 1 year minimum warranty;


i) Included installation and startup assistance where required;


j) Delivery Instructions: All equipment must be delivered to:
          ERDC-CRREL
          72 Lyme Road
          Hanover, NH 03755-1290


Please reference the attached RFQ for the Purchase Description (PD), as well as all applicable provisions and clauses. The Government intends to award a firm fixed-price contract resulting from this solicitation to the lowest price technically acceptable (LPTA), responsible quote. The following factors shall be used to evaluate offers: technical capability to meet the Government's required specifications; and price.


Delivery shall be FOB Destination to ERDC CRREL in Hanover, NH 03755-1290.
