Land Use Plan and Zoning Codes Update
The City is now accepting proposals from urban planning consultants to update the city’s land use plan and zoning and related codes. The project is intent upon focusing on Smart Growth principles if and where applicable and incorporating sustainable development practices that offer resiliency relative to natural disaster events to which the community is vulnerable. The project will consists of the coordination of public participation, physical and cultural inventory and analysis, community visioning, a future land use plan document, appropriate zoning and associated code updates and expansion, and incorporation of same into a unified development code.
