The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Hydro, Inc. for Laboratory Pure Water Preventative Maintenance Services. This requirement is for scheduled component exchange/replacement service and maintenance for the laboratory purification systems at the Office of Infectious Diseases of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention laboratories in Atlanta, GA in order to ensure their proper specified operation and condition. Hydro, Inc has performed these services over the past 5 years and has the requisite expertise to keep the laboratory water purification systems functioning at optimal levels for accurate laboratory results. Many of CDC's laboratories are subject to Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act Amendment (CLIA) inspections and must stay in compliance in order to maintain accreditation. This continued accreditation is dependent upon compliance with requirements for preventative maintenance of the reagent grade water systems, and these scheduled component exchange/replacementservices and maintenance are required to ensure the proper operation of the CDC laboratory water purification systems. This is an interim 3 month purchase order until a new contract can be competed. A lapse in these services will put the sytems at risk for providing the required purified water for reliable laboratory outcomes and impact CDC's ability to continue to perform research and other supporting laboratory services. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within four (4) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to William Brannen at VWL0@cdc.gov by 11:00 A.M., February 26, 2018.
