The US Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is issuing a solicitation for the purchase of new Turbine Shaft Packing Unwatering Pumps, commercial supplies, prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation 12.6. The NAICS code applicable to this acquisition is 339991, with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 Employees as determined by 13 CFR 121.104.

Competition for this requirement is Set-Aside for small business. Offers received from other than small business offerors will not be considered. When available, the solicitation documents for this project W912EF-19-Q-0089 will be provided via FedBizOpps.gov https://www.fbo.gov on or around June 21, 2019. Please do not submit a quote without the solicitation package that will be provided to industry by the Government. The solicitation will be a Request for Quote (RFQ). The official quotation due date will be contained in the solicitation and any solicitation amendments that may be issued.


SCOPE OF WORK


The packing shall be one (1) inch square, 15-1/2 foot long lengths, industrial style, densely braided fiber packing made from 100% GFO material (a composition of tetrafluroethylene (TFE) and graphite fiber yarn). The packing shall utilize multi-cord silicone rubber o-ring cords within the braided packing and be suitable for surface speeds up to 4200 fpm, pressures up to 2000 psi, and temperatures of 500 degrees Fahrenheit. The packing shall be designed that it naturally squares itself around the shaft. Braided packing that forms a wedge-shape (keystone) when formed around a shaft will not be accepted.


Packing shall be delivered to Lower Monumental Lock and Dam no later than 15 calendar days of contract award.
