The purpose of this project is to construct three (3) Floridan Aquifer System (FAS) monitoring and test production wells in the County on the C-37 canal between lakes Hatchineha and Kissimmee. These wells are part of a larger reconnaissance of the lower Floridan aquifer in the Kissimmee basin, focusing on addressing uncertainties in the development of that resource as an alternate water supply source in the region. Specific objectives for this site include: identifying any productive horizons within the lower Floridan aquifer and the quality of water in those horizons; evaluation of the hydraulic properties of lower Floridan aquifer zones of interest; and evaluation of the degree of confinement between the lower Floridan aquifer and overlying units.
