Kersey Library Renovations
The project consists but not limited to:
* The project is on the University of Louisville Belknap Campus south of Eastern
Parkway and south the J.B. Speed Scientific Building.
* The existing Kersey Library is two stories with approximately 32,000 gross
square feet. It was constructed in 1945 with two additions constructed in 1978 and 1988.
* The project is a complete renovation including replacement of mechanical and
electrical equipment and systems. The renovation will include opening the second floor
to create a new stair connection and new window openings in the exterior wall. A two
story 1,400 gsf infill addition, located on the east side of the building, is planned to house
mechanical equipment and provide emergency exiting on the 1st floor.
* The project will be designed to obtain, at a minimum, a LEED Certified rating.
* Independent Commissioning services, will be provided to meet LEED
requirements.
