The General Services Administration (GSA) is setting aside the contract under the following clause found in the Agreement:
52.219-6, Notice of Total Small Business Set Aside
GSA will be accepting proposals for JFB Freight Elevator - Install Rope Gripper with the intent to award to one qualified firm without discussions. Offerors are asked to provide itemized pricing for each CLIN group (example: CLIN 0001 and CLIN 0002; CLIN 0003 and CLIN 0004, and so forth) they are using the attached as well as CSI Masterformat Level 4 Break-Out to support pricing (to include all sub-contractor proposals/quotes).

The freight elevator in the Juneau Federal Building (JFB) was modernized in 2003 but an emergency rope gripper was not installed at that time. This project is to install the rope gripper.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
Contractor shall provide all labor, material, engineering, and analysis to install a code compliant rope gripper on the freight elevator. Install according to manufacturer's recommended specifications and all current codes and standards.


Unintended motion must be tested by the installer and witnessed by a QEI elevator inspector, in both up and down directions, with empty and full load, according to the most current revision (at time of award) of ASME A17.1/CSA B44 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators testing procedures. This shall include ASME A17.2 - The Guidance for Elevator Inspections and ASME A17.3 - The Safety Code for Existing Elevators and Escalators
•    GSA to provide personnel for final test
•    Three weeks advance notice is required in order to allow enough time for travel arrangements.
