Juneau Bridge Repair & Upgrade
The Department intends to enter into a negotiated agreement for professional services for replacement of Trout Street Bridge (Bridge No. 1786) and upgrades to the Basin Road Trestle Bridge (Bridge No. 948). These upgrades will include deck and guardrail replacement and design work that will increase the load rating for both exterior spans. New load ratings will be calculated for each bridge.
Task 1: Preliminary Engineering through Environmental Document.
Task 2-8: Design Study report, hydrologic and hydraulic design, geotechnical, bridge design, Plans Specifications & Estimates, completion documentation and assistance during bidding.
Task 9: Assistance during construction, if required.
A complete description of services is contained in the RFP Package. Estimated period for performance of the Agreement is March 1, 2009/March 31, 2011. Cost of these professional services is expected to be in the range of $100,000 to $150,000.
The Request for Proposals (RFP) Package will be available January 15, 2009 and may be obtained in person from the DOT&PF plans room at 6860 Glacier Highway, Juneau, AK 99801-7999. Persons residing outside the City & Borough of Juneau may obtain an RFP Package through the mail by telephoning (907) 465-4488. Walk-in and telephone service is available during the hours of 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Proposals must conform to the RFP and be submitted with specified forms. Submittals must be received no later than February 6, 2009, 4:00 PM prevailing time. Please be advised that none of the courier services (Fed-EX, UPS, etc.) provide overnight service to or from Juneau. Please allow at least 2 to 3 business days for receipt of expedited packages.
