The US Army Contracting Command - Rock Island (ACC-RI), Rock Island Arsenal, IL on behalf of Project Leader Computer Hardware Enterprise Software Solutions (PL CHESS) is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) as part of market research to gather information on industry's capabilities for the following:
The Army is exploring the possibility of replacing Oracle JavaJDK with a distribution of the OpenJDK platform. The Army desires a "black box" virtual machine solution that allows code to be executed in an isolated manner on any systems. The concept is that this "black box" solution will be a middle ground platform that code such as Java could run on any machine: Windows, Macintosh, Linux, etc. in a secure fashion. The Army is seeking a solution to support website functionality of Java code execution within their environment.
