Seeking interested vendors for Invasive Species (Noxious Weed) Treatment - Do not send Pricing! Market Research is being performed to determine the best method to advertise the Government's needs. Responses received will help determine interest/capabilities and help determine if the Forest Service will utilize a social economic set aside to meet it's need.


The Black Hills National Forest is seeking information on determining the best method for treating invasive species (noxious weeds) on the Black Hills National Forest managing approximately $1.2 Million acres covered by four Ranger Districts in both South Dakota and Wyoming. Performance based service consists of treating invasive species (noxious weeds), providing treatment data, including GPS/GIS data. Aerial treatment is not authorized for use in the Black Hills National Forest lands.


Normal operational period would be from June 1 through September 30th of any given year. Supply of water may or may not be available in the local area of work, if not; the contractor will be required to furnish water.


Program treatment areas would identify species in specific geographic areas and features target areas such as burn piles, landings, meadows, uplands etc. The target treatment species and features could change from year to year and differ on individual projects depending upon treatment needs in specific management areas.


The contractor provides necessay herbicides, all labor, equipment, supplies, services, permits, licensing, supervision, workman's compensation, unemployment insurance, transportation, and quality control to accomplish necessary service work for weed treatment. Herbicides utilized must meet EPA standards and be applied in compliance with utilization labels.
