RSD is currently comprised of 34 school buildings with approximately 12,000 students; and New Orleans is also served by 26 charter schools with approximately 11,000 students.
The RSD has all of the dynamics of a large urban school district with the complexities of the post-Katrina fall-out where the student body is in flux and where systems and facilities are in the process of being re-built from the ground up.
Given this history, we have the vision of creating a state-of-the-art Response to Intervention (RTI) and Exceptional Children Management Program that supports best practices that will enable the RSD to provide the best quality and care of services to our Special Education student population.
