Internet Access and Service
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) is seeking proposals for Internet Access and Service for the
2008 E-Rate Year, which begins July 1, 2008.
CMS is considering utilizing 200 Mbps of dedicated and guaranteed bandwidth to an Internet Exchange
(MAE). During the term of this contract, CMS may need to decrease or increase Internet bandwidth. CMS
will require a 30 day turn around for these changes.
The term of this multi-year contract is 3 years (July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2011) with the option for two
additional one-year voluntary extensions that could carry this contract through 2013.
The Offeror must have local service and support (within 50 mile radius to Charlotte) that can quickly
respond to any issue that causes an interruption with CMS Internet Access.
