Internal Connections for Wired Network, Wireless Network, and VOIP
The County School District is accepting proposals for the upgrade of its wired
and installation of a wireless local area network (LAN) at a total of 7 locations. This will consist
of upgrading the cabling infrastructure and all of the network devices, including a new firewall,
integrating to the existing network, where applicable. In addition, the existing Voice over IP
(VOIP) phone system may be replaced. The bids will be cost allocated, separated by wireless,
wired, VOIP and itemized by location.
1. The installation of the network equipment and the cabling infrastructure will be a turnkey
operation, placing the responsibility of the end to end network connectivity and warranty
within the winning bidder’s area of responsibility. Sub contractors and vendor
installations may be used but their work will be the responsibility of the winning vendor.
2. The wireless network equipment will appear for bid on a separate FRN but the work will
be outlined in this RFP.
3. The phone system will be replaced if there is equipment on the market that will take
advantage of the investment already made in the existing end user equipment. This
equipment will appear for bid on a separate FRN as well
