The NCDOC requires the services of one vendor to
provide Inmate Medical Management Services (IMMS) for inmates in the custody of the NCDOC throughout the state of North Carolina. Basic services provided by the Vendor shall include a statewide integrated health care delivery system that provides cost-
effective, clinically appropriate care and timely processing and payment of medical claims. These services shall include a provider network, specialty care services, and a web-based prior authorization system. The intent of this contract is for the vendor to provide as much outpatient specialty care on-site at NCDOC facilities as possible.
