the area of parenting information and support. The programme aims to improve outcomes for children and empower parents by driving greater efficiency, innovation and reach in the information and support services funded by the Department. It draws together existing and new initiatives into a coordinated programme to drive service improvement. Parent Know How will comprise multiple strands that are designed to provide support for those in parenting roles. To date providers have been procured within two strands: Helplines and Innovation Fund.
The Department is now launching the procurement process for a third strand, an Information System for Parent and Providers (ISPP). The ISPP service will aggregate and present national and local childcare and children's services information in a clear, intuitive and searchable/discoverable manner. This notice applies to the ISPP Aggregator that will form the core of the service. It will integrate with local authority systems and a national families' services directory in order to collate relevant information into a central repository. The information within the repository will be made available to other web-based systems through a search and discovery interface. As well as collating local information the aggregator supplier will be responsible for managing and storing information on national families' services.
The Department seeks to select and contract with a single supplier to design, develop, implement and operate the ISPP Aggregator. It expects the successful bidder to have capability and experience in number of areas including, but not limited to, the following:
Aggregation of data from various sources, based on agreed XML schemas;
