The Saint Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC) is searching for sources to provide two (2) boilers on a rental basis for a one-month period (approximately mid-December through mid-January) with the following features:


Nominal 250 Boiler Horsepower rating (BHP)
Minimum design output steam pressure of 30 psig
Self-contained - trailer mounted
Completely weather protected
Fuel oil fired with integral fuel storage tank; to accommodate a minimum run time of 8 hours between fuel fill-ups at full load.
Must be able to accept 100% Makeup water
Must be able to accept untreated feedwater from local freshwater source, or able to treat this type of feedwater if necessary.
Maximum Electrical load to be 100 AMPS 480V/3PH/60HZ
Minimum of (3) available steam hose connections at each boiler with shut off valves


Other Equipment


2500 Ft. of 1- ½ inch steam rated hose. Temperature Rating from -40 F to 450 F.
(8) Steam shut off valves for steam hose point of use end.  Valves to have Pipe Thread (NPT) connections.
Hose Couplings needed if not integral to hose assembly, steam rated.
Minimum steam hose section length of 50 Ft.
500 Ft. of boiler feed water supply hose


The SLSDC is located in Massena, NY.  The principal use of the boilers would be to melt ice in the lock chamber. The rental would be on an as-needed basis.  SLSDC wants an agreement in place in the event the boilers are required. Interested vendors shall submit information regarding the boilers and the respective rental terms and conditions; if a vendor-provided operator is an option; and response time if rental/services are required.  Email information to Patricia White, Contracting Officer, at patricia.white@dot.gov.
