Independent Assessment of the Industrial Science and Technology Working Group (ISTWG)
In their 2006 Statement, Ministers endorsed the recommendations of the SCE review of APEC Fora, recognizing that these improvements will ensure more focused economic and technical cooperation and bring a more strategic perspective to APECs capacity building and technical assistance. Ministers instructed the SCE to continue efforts to improve the operations and work of working groups, task forces and networks to ensure ECOTECH activities are targeted, effective and efficient to make the best use of scarce resources in 2007 and beyond.
Reaffirming this course of action, the 2006 APEC Leaders statement, welcomed the outcomes and efforts to strengthen the prioritization and effective implementation of economic and technical cooperation through APEC fora. These achievements will ensure more focused economic and technical cooperation and bring a more strategic perspective to APECs capacity building and technical assistance.
