The Department is seeking services for the Improvised Explosive Device Defeat (IEDD) Lane Culvert Repair. A culvert pipe structure has recently been installed to facilitate training exercises. While effective for training, the culvert has proven inadequate to convey storm runoff in flooding events, and has caused clogging of the culvert, erosion of the trail surface and surrounding soils, and downstream sedimentation. This project will replace the existing culvert pipe with a wide box culvert structure. This will continue to facilitate training exercises while a) ensuring long term, low maintenance road surface stability, b) improve safety of vehicular passage, and c) reduce erosion and sedimentation burden on the receiving watershed.
