The Ohio State University has undertaken a project that will consolidate a number of identity-related systems. The University currently maintains identity information in a number of unsynchronized data silos. Key systems are indicated in the Scope of Work. As a result of the proliferation of systems that deal with identity, the existing identity management systems utilized throughout campus are not as effective as the current business model requires.
The Identity Management solution will need to have the ability to maintain information for all faculty, staff, students, alumni and affiliates along with a number of guests using University facilities. The current number of identities being actively managed exceeds 1,000,000. This number does not include alumni, donors, prospective students, consultants, VENDORS, clients, guests or patients; including these, the total could exceed 2,000,000. The estimated number of identities at initial implementation will be at least 1,000,000.
