THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY: The Government is currently conducting market research to gather information and identify potential sources for the requirement identified below. A solicitation is not available at this time, and requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the United States Government.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Acquisition & Grants Office (AGO), Western Acquisition Division (WAD)-Boulder, in support of the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is conducting market research to identify potential vendors with the capability and availability to analyze plankton tows and stomach contents from juvenile steelhead and Chinook Salmon invertebrate prey samples and identify prey taxa for the purpose of determining abundance and diversity of prey taxa at selected sites in the Lower Columbia River and Estuary (LCRE).


Contractor's Capability Statement: NOAA requests respondents to describe their ability to: (1) identify invertebrate prey (primarily aquatic insects but also some estuarine and marine crustaceans) common in the Lower Columbia River and Estuary (LCRE) and experience processing plankton and juvenile salmon stomach samples using standard techniques, (2) whether your company has the necessary equipment (compound and dissecting microscopes, electronic balance) and invertebrate taxonomic keys and (3) Experience using invertebrate taxonomic keys.


Vendor shall state their size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for the proposed acquisition. The NAICS for the proposed acquisition is 541620, Environmental Consulting Services, with a size standard of $15M. Please also submit your DUNS number and CAGE code.

No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of the submission of contractor's information. The Government shall not be liable for or suffer any consequential damages for proprietary information not properly identified. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations.
