INSTALLATION OF CABLING AND FIBER
Mandatory pre-bid meeting 02/03/2010.
The County has determined that this project, at a minimum, will require the following:
Install patch panels for approximately 220 network drops. Approximately 220 category 5e Ethernet drops should be installed (one cable per drop) terminated, and tested in adherence to TIA/EIA 568-B Standards, with testing results provided in writing and in an electronic format. These should all be homerun cable runs to the telephone/computer room (room 139 on the building drawing). Install 12 strands of multimode fiber through newly installed conduit which runs from the area to the right of the DSS facility (the former auto parts store) through the top of the building to the area to the left of the DSS facility (the former dry cleaner). (Approximately 220 in distance). The fiber pairs will be terminated in cans in both areas; location still to be determined. See fiber optic part numbers below. All associated labeling (patch panel labels, face plate labels with appropriate numbering scheme, and each should tie into test results documentation).
Complete as built documentation.
All installation will be in accordance with plans that will be posted via PDF file on the County website with this bid document.
Facilitate a 25-year system performance warranty between the Manufacturer and the Owner. An extended component warranty shall be provided which warrants functionality of all cabling and connectivity components used in the system for 25 years from the date of acceptance.
