The Town is soliciting proposals from qualified professional network support
firms for Information Technology support services. The qualified vendor will enable the
Town to identify areas of technology which needs improvements or upgrades that will
increase information technology (IT) effectiveness, enhance its quality of service delivery,
minimize its support costs, and maximize return on investment.
The Town currently runs a Windows based infrastructure with 10 servers and
approximately 120 desktops and laptops supporting approximately 125 users located at 5
sites. Servers run Windows Server 2000 or Windows Server 2003 (Standard Server editions)
and client workstations run Windows XP. A few Windows 2000 workstations remain and are
in the process of being upgraded to Windows XP. The central server location is at Town
Offices, with remote sites connected through a fiber. The Town phone system is an IP
Telephony server and phone station serviced in house and with vendor support.
