Hybrid Bookmobile
The intent of this specification is to describe the conversion of one
(I) heavy duty, transit style bus into a Bookmobile for use by the Library ("Library"). The unit shall be built on a Freightliner or equivalent chassis to provide adequate support of the conversion and diversified collection of up to 4500 items. The Library requires that the bookmobile incorporate a hybrid diesel/electric drive train, and seeks to use as many eco-friendly materials as possible in the conversion process.
