On May 27, 2009, City of Cincinnati Council passed motion 200900794 establishing three priority areas for
the General Fund Human Services funding. These are to:
1) Meet the emergency social needs of individuals and families (30% of the General Fund for Human
Services budget)
2) Promote self-sufficiency (40% of the General Fund for Human Services budget)
3) Reduce violence in the community (30% of the General Fund for Human Services budget)
Funding Ranges
Each program invited to submit a full proposal has been given a funding range, as stated in the Letter of
Invitation. The funding range is a preliminary indication of the approximate level of funding the City of
Cincinnati may want to invest in the program if it is accepted following the next review process. In many
cases, the amount the program requested and the funding range for which the program is invited to submit
a full proposal will vary. The funding ranges were determined using several factors, including the available
funding for each City Priority Area. There is no guarantee that the final 2010 investment will fall within the
funding range given to a program.
