Houston Ship Channel, Texas, Clinton Placement Area Improvements in Harris County, Texas
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a contract for the Houston Ship Channel, Texas, Clinton Placement Area Improvements in Harris County, Texas.
Project Information: The work consists of Clinton Placement Area Improvements, an upland PA in Houston. Approximately 575,000 CY of containment dike raising, 70,000 LF of ditching, and rehabilitation of two existing drop outlet structures. Contractor should have experience with dredged material placement areas construction and demonstrate previous contract experience as a Prime Contractor raising dikes of dredged material placement areas, constructing ditches in dredged material placement areas, and rehabilitating or installing drop outlet structures at dredge material placement areas. Contractor should expect to use equipment with low ground pressure due to the soft/wet material in which the equipment will be operating. Contractor should observe conditions associated with Dredged Material Placement Areas. Conditions within the placement area are typically very wet.
Completion Time: Schedule No. 1 - 633 calendar days.
If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $3,562.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted.
The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (3) calendar days after award. The contractor shall begin work within (10) calendar days after receipt of the notice to Proceed.
The Solicitation issued will be Firm Fixed Price. The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00.
The solicitation is advertised as "UNRESTRICTED" full & open competition to both large and small businesses. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 237990. The Small Business Size Standard is $39.5 Million.
The solicitation will be issued on or about 26 July 2019. Response date is 10 December 2019 @ 2:00 PM. (All bids must be submitted electronically via Federal Business Opportunities website @ www.fbo.gov). The estimated award date for this project is September 2019.
