High Elevation Cone Collection
The forest service has a requirement to collect cones from Various Forests throughout California. The work consists of caging the trees early in the summer and collecting cones and de-daging trees at the end of summer. There are 8 forests with 5 trees each that require caging and cone collecting. Camping is allowed on forest service lands with applicable permits.
