Healthcare Environmental Services
At minimum, basic services are:
o Housekeeping to include all necessary equipment and consumable supplies;
o Waste management to include collection and transport of municipal solid and regulated medical waste to
appropriate locations within facilities covered;
o Operation of on-site steam sterilization equipment for treatment of regulated medical waste;
o Recycling program to include internal collection and transport to appropriate locations, sorting and
preparation of recycled materials for pick-up by others;
o Confidential document collection and disposal program;

In addition to the basic services described above, UVAMC will entertain proposals for additional services such as:
o Other services consistent with the generally accepted scope of comprehensive healthcare environmental
services.
