The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) is conducting a market survey of potential sources who may be interested in the development of a low range hardness test strip to test water used in machinery.  The test strips should be easy to use onboard ships.  Water samples to be tested will be from boiler feedwater and diesel engine fill water and do not contain corrosion inhibitor.  The test strips should be able to detect limits as low as 0.02 epm (1 ppm CaCO3) IAW the boiler feedwater requirements in NSTM 220 Volume 2.


Questions should be directed to nicole.canfield@navy.mil. ; Any information provided shall be treated as Business Sensitive and will not be shared outside of Government activities and agencies without the permission of the provider. All information shall be provided free of charge to the Government. NSWCPD may request further information regarding the capabilities of respondents to meet the requirements and may request a presentation and/or a site visit as deemed necessary. At no cost to the government, the government may request further clarification of a contractor's submission.



There is no commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by industry responses to this RFI. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities website located at http://www.fbo.gov/.
