The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Forest Service Northern Research anticipates the solicitation for the following project at the Forest Product Laboratory in Madison, Wisconsin.

The Project will replace the existing HVAC system of a wood conditioning room (880SF) and adjacent testing room (790SF). A 300SF addition to the testing room will be constructed, making the gross testing room area approximately 1100SF. The project area is constructed of CMU and precast concrete walls, concrete floor, with a bar truss/concrete slab ceiling.

Project goal is to provide an HVAC system that can deliver precise climate conditions for proper testing, keeping Temperature and Relative Humidity within +/- 2 degrees/percentages respectively. Airflow and circulation are also of high concern due to the sensitive testing equipment within the space. New light fixtures, electrical & data outlets, doors, and windows will also be included in the Project. All HVAC equipment is located on the ceiling/roof of the testing room. Equipment utilizes hot & chilled water for conditioning spaces and steam humidification. Construction specialties included in the Project include: Selective demolition, Masonry, Structural, Electrical/Controls, Mechanical (HVAC), Testing/Balancing.

Required: Twenty (20) percent bid guarantee, 100 percent performance bond will be required.

Type of set-aside: Total Small Business.

This a new requirement.

NAICS Code: 238220 - Will need to be listed on your SAM.gov registration.

Goverment Estimate is Between $250,000 and $500,000.

There will be a pre-bid/site visit on August 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM (Central Time) at the USDA Forest Service, Northern Forest Product Laboratory, 1 Gifford Pinchot Drive, Madison WI 53726. While attendance is not mandatory, all interested contractors are strongly encourage to attend the pre-bid/site visit.
