Change Of Time : The pre-proposal conference will be held at 11:00 am EST on February 23, 2010 in the D.C.Culp Building Meeting Room #3. This is a change from the originally scheduled 10:00 am time. A walk through of the buildings will be held after the conference.
Burleson Hall: Constructed in 1961, Burleson Hall is a four story building containing a combination of lecture classrooms and offices. It is connected to Mathis Hall. The mechanical system is a 2-pipe CW/HW system. Each classroom is served from a unit ventilator located below a window on the exterior wall. Located in each window is a 48x16 relief vent. It is recommended that all of these ventilators be replaced. The offices on floors two through four are served from fan coil units located below a window on the exterior wall. The offices are all supplied by fan coil units. The building will be upgraded to a 4-pipe system with new fan coils and ventilators. Campus Center Building: The Campus Center Building was begun in 1910 with major renovations/additions in 1957 and 1987. It is a three story building containing mostly offices, but contains a few classrooms and a museum. The mechanical system is a 4-pipe CW/HW system. The building has a dedicated air cooled chiller. All of the spaces are served by ventilators or fan coils. Only critical areas will have unit replacements. Replacements will be as follows: Testing Center two fan coils, 3D Studio one fan coil, and the Theater Classroom one fan coil. The piping and pumps are in poor condition in the basement mechanical room. This piping will be replaced along with additional funds to patch failing sections of pipe.

John Clack Chiller Plant: Clack building, constructed in 1974 and expanded in 1980, is a single story building with a mezzanine. It houses the central chillers and cooling towers. New cooling tower condenser pumps will be installed to provide the chilled water capacity required by these building HVAC system upgrades.
Hutcheson Hall: Hutcheson Hall, constructed in 1961, is a three story building containing laboratories, lecture classrooms, offices, home economics, and a planetarium. The mechanical system for the basement laboratories are is a 2-pipe system consisting of horizontal fan coil units and a makeup air unit. The first and second floor mechanical systems consist of an air handling unit located in a roof penthouse. The air is ducted down to both floors. Additional capacity in the space is met using window mounted air conditioners and ductless splits. A new VRV system will be installed for the upper two floors in place of the window units. The other equipment, including exhaust fans, will be replaced to match existing with the addition of an ERV on the penthouse air handler. Asbestos abatement will be required. Mathes Hall: Mathes Hall, constructed in 1955, is a four story building containing music classrooms, offices, practice rooms, and a music hall. It is connected to Burlesson Hall. The mechanical system is a 4-pipe system. All of the offices and classrooms are served from fan coil units, either horizontal above the ceiling or vertical units. Ventilation air is supplied for these spaces from a makeup air unit. The music hall is served from one indoor air handler. All the equipment in this building will be replaced and upgraded as necessary.
Wilson-Wallis Hall: Wilson-Wallis Hall, constructed in 1965, is a three story building containing lecture classrooms, computer classrooms, shop classrooms, offices, and several IT rooms. The entire mechanical system will be removed and replaced with a 4-pipe system. Asbestos abatement will be required.
Rogers-Stout: Rogers-Stout Hall, constructed in 1967, is a four story building containing labs, lecture classrooms, auditoriums, and offices. The mechanical system is a 4-pipe system. The classrooms are served by unit ventilators located along the exterior walls. The outside air intakes are directly behind the units. Additional make up air is supplied from an indoor air handler located in a penthouse on the roof. The offices are supplied by fan coil units. The ventilators in the classrooms will be replaced along with the makeup air unit. The fan coil units will have their control valves upgraded to connect to the Metasys system. Gross square footage is approximately 750,000.
