THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY for market research purposes to identify interested vendors for the potential requirement detailed below. A formal solicitation and performance work statement are not available. Additionally, in accordance with FAR 19.5, Set-Asides for Small Business, the Government will review the information requested in this announcement to determine the type of set-aside (if any) for this requirement, should it come to fruition.
The US Geological Survey USGS has a potential need that requires the purchase of 30 acoustic transmitters capable of operating simultaneously at high burst rates (" (2 cm) in width. Must be suitable for implantation in fish, without sharp corners that would cut or abrade the internal organs of the fish and constructed of non-toxic external materials that will not rust or degrade inside the fish. They must have a battery capable of transmitting (1 burst/2 sec.) for four months. Weight in air must be less than 25 g. Must be programmable to allow enhanced frequency of measurement during the spawning period (Late May to early July).
