Grand Isle & Vicinity, West End Segmented Stone Breakwaters, Jefferson Parish, LA (ED-19-001)
Ten segmented stone breakwaters would be constructed in shallow waters within 400 feet of the shoreline off the coast of Grand Isle. Each segment would be approximately 200 feet long with a maximum width of 50 feet and would have 300 foot gaps between them. The segments would consist of geo‐textile fabric and stone. All activities associated with the construction of the breakwaters would be water based and via barge. Barge mounted draglines and excavators will be used to place the geotextile fabric and rock. A barge mounted pile driver will be used to drive piling for navigation light platforms light platforms. The estimated value of this work is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.
