Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Program
The City is interested in establishing an ongoing relationship with a contractor to ensure high quality,
necessary, timely, and cost-efficient GIS program services. We expect that the contractor chosen will be
experienced in the type of GIS program services required on an ongoing basis by municipal entities.
The City utilizes GIS in almost all aspects of its business needs. This includes
resources for internal operations, such as research on property or billing issues as well as external
customer access to resources such as crime activity and garbage collection. With the widespread
application of GIS technology across the City, it is imperative that a clear and achievable plan be in place
to support and expand the City’s GIS functionality.
The mission of the GIS program is to provide tools and services that allow for the creation, maintenance,
analysis, and viewing of location based information. Through the use of the GIS tools and services it is
the objective of the GIS Department to support City operations in providing the most efficient and
accurate services to the citizens.
