The Center is seeking bids to replace one or more of its existing Chyron Duet, dual-channel, standard definition graphics (character generator) systems (henceforth referred to as CG in this document).
Currently, the ECC operates and maintains two (2) Chyron Duet CG systems, one located in the studio control area, and one in a mobile production truck. Both are 2-channel, SDI standard definition (SD) units, with Lyric software and an internal clip player. It is the intent of this procurement to replace at least one (1) of these CG systems with a functionally similar, modern, dual-channel CG system. It is also the intent of this procurement to ensure any equipment purchased can be upgraded from SD to HD in the future.
Key benefits of upgrading the current CG system: To replace outdated, aged equipment, allowing more simple and reliable operation and reduced operating costs. To provide an upgrade path from SD to HD operation when demand requires (expected within one to three years).
