Gas-to-Electric Conversion
This project will convert the apartments to all electrical appliances (stoves, heat pumps, and water heaters). There are 15 buildings with a total of 108 apartment units. There are two water heaters for every group of four apartments. The existing window NC units will be replaced by small split-system units with two fan coils per apartment. The project includes an upgrade to exterior lighting as well as primary electrical service for the affected apartments. All seven buildings of the College View Apartments (84 units total) will be converted from gas to electric, but the gas furnaces will remain. Additional combustion air for furnaces are to be provided. Stoves and water heaters will be replaced as part of this project.
