GPS Monitoring Services
Provide hardware and start up services for the Penstock Instrumentation Program. The equipment shall be 2 GPS monitors and system monitoring software. The equipment will be installed by SMUD- one GPS unit on the parapet wall of the Powerhouse, the second on the Valve house roof. The units shall have the capability of 24/7 real time monitoring with minimum accuracy of one-one hundredth of a foot. The purpose of the equipment installation is to provide SMUD engineers with accurate, precise and real time data in regards to the global position of these two points to further augment the current Penstock Monitoring Program. The units will provide invaluable data as to the movement of the infrastructure and provide assurance as a check and balance of the local position data available via survey crews. Start up services shall include GPS software and hardware commissioning plus 3 man days of training.
