GIS 2010 Aerial Flight Mapping Update
The City initiated a Geographic Information System (GIS) for the Metropolitan Area in the spring of 1991. Aerial photography was obtained in 1992, at a scale of 1=40 (1:480) for the Metropolitan Area, and 1=80 (1:960) for the surrounding region. This project was designed to support the compilation of planimetric features to a horizontal accuracy of 1.25 feet within the Metropolitan area, and 2.5 feet for the surrounding region. Subsequent updates were completed in years 2000 and 2005.
