Fulfillment and Storage
The State seeks to contract with a mailing service/storage facility to store educational materials and fulfill orders to schools and other facilities. Vendor will store up to approximately 400 pallets of educational materials and fulfill orders for these materials to schools, conference training and exhibits, and other facilities. Services include receiving educational materials ordered by GaDOE (primarily School Nutrition) and storing for subsequent shipping to individual schools and other facilities. Examples of materials include books and other items for media centers, school nurses, and school nutrition directors. Other materials include nutrition education brochures, booklets and related items for conference exhibits. Shipments may be made to all schools or to a few schools as requested. Services also include maintaining an up-to-date inventory of all stored materials with at a minimum thumb-nail pictures of items. When orders are made, the vendor is responsible for packing the requested items and shipping. GaDOE does not have adequate storage space to store the number of educational materials that need to be maintained. GaDOE also does not have adequate staff to collate, pack, and label materials to the many various locations that materials are shipped to.
