The Government is issuing a solicitation for Fort Randall Asbestos & Heavy Metal Housekeeping Service. The solicitation will close on 17 September 2019. The solicitation is Unrestricted and Open to Both Large and Small Business Participation.

Project Description:


Asbestos & Heavy Metal Dust HVAC Cleaning Services at Fort Randall Power Plant, Pickstown, South Dakota. Includes custodial duct cleaning services for the cleaning of dust that contains asbestos fibers and heavy contaminants via HEPA vacuuming, wet wiping and
hand cleaning throughout the Fort Randall Power Plant. The Fort Randall Power Plant is approximately 570 feet long, 80 feet wide, 120 feet in elevation, containing five (5) floor elevations and eight (8) hydropower generating units. Cleaning ventilation system(s) may
require creating access hatches with respective repairs or possibly separating sections of ductwork for proper cleaning. Working at heights and in tight spaces may also be required. Laboratory testing of wipe samples may be required to determine if dust contains or potentially contains asbestos fibers, lead, and/or other heavy metals. Contractor would be required to provide and implement proper PPE and air monitoring as necessary throughout the duration of the project. Contractor would be required to provide all equipment necessary to access and complete cleanup in all designated areas.

The Primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code anticipated for solicitation is 562910, Environmental Remediation Services with a size standard for Small Business of $20.5M.


Site Visit:


The site visit for this project will be on 5 September 2019 at the Ft. Randall Powerhouse on the Ft. Randall Dam, SD. Specifics of the site visit will included in the solicitation.
