Form-Based Code Initiative
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
Encourage positive redevelopment through form-based zoning and development regulations that promote community objectives.
Ensure coordination between land planning, development, and transportation systems.
Promote a positive relationship between existing neighborhoods and redevelopment along the Boulevard, ensuring appropriate transitions.
Engage all stakeholders including landowners, business owners and employees, homeowners, and tenants throughout the process.
Create a built environment that supports a multi-modal transportation system, including increased pedestrian activity.
Identify the public capital improvements that will support the implementation of the FBC and encourage positive redevelopment.
Integrate the new FBC effectively into the Citys existing regulatory framework so as to ease City administration and private compliance.
Serve as a pilot project for possible future FBC planning initiatives elsewhere in the City.
