Forensic Mental Health Specialist Support

This initiative is designed to build specialist expertise into the core capacity of the specialist
mental health service system so that clinicians and PDRSS workers in their day to day
interactions with consumers with highly challenging risk behaviours have the requisite skills and
confidence to work with and support this group of consumers. For this reason, it is not
intended that the positions have a dedicated case load. Under exceptional circumstances the
positions may provide short term shared care e.g. during the initial assessment process for a
consumer with highly complex issues.
