County residents are encouraged to safely and responsibly recycle fluorescent light bulbs of all shapes and sizes. To that end, the County provides appropriate receptacles (open containers, boxes, drums) at three County facilities where spent lamps can be dropped off by County residents. In addition, the County itself generates a significant number of spent lamps that need to be properly recycled. County-generated lamps are re-packaged in original boxes, dropped off at the landfill and held there until picked up for recycling. The County intends to enter into a contract for proper recycling of both County-generated and residential-generated spent fluorescent lamps and PCB ballast (Universal Waste).
