This announcement is for Market Survey Purposes. This is NOT a Request for Proposal. The following information is provided to assist the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in conducting market research of industry to identify potential vendors capable of providing flexible or hand formable shielded RF Coaxial Cable assemblies.

1. Introduction/Purpose
The FAA is seeking companies with experience in design and/or manufacturing of flexible or hand formable shielded RF coaxial cable assemblies. These factors include: manufacturing techniques or processes, specifications, testing processes and methodologies, and any known capabilities that currently exist in flexible and formable shielded coaxial cable assemblies manufacturing. Lengths of the flexible or hand formable shielded RF coaxial cable assemblies vary from a minimum of .5 feet to a maximum of 10 feet.

This requirement is in support of the Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) model-9 systems to overcome aging and broken semi-rigid coaxial cables problems such as RF signal degradation issues.

3. Standard Language
(a) This is not a Screening Information Request or Request for Proposals of any kind;
(b) The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals;
(c) The FAA will not pay for any information received or costs incurred in preparing the response to the market survey, and responses will not be returned;
(d) Any costs associated with the market survey submittal are solely at the interested vendorbs expense;
(e) The FAA reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any input as a result of this market survey;
(f) Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted; and
(g) Any confidential or proprietary information submitted in response to this announcement must be marked accordingly by the vendor. Such information will not be disclosed outside of the acquisition team.

4. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code
Interested vendors are requested to provide the NAICS that coincides with the product or products detailed in your firms Capability Statement.

5. Submittal Requirements for Market Survey

The FAA requests the following (limited to 35 pages) from interested vendors in accordance with the attached RF Coaxial cable specifications:

1.    Capability Statement b This document shall identify the types of products/services provided by your firm. State whether your company designs and/or manufactures flexible or hand formable shielded RF coaxial cable assemblies. Include a description of manufacturing technique or processes. For example, for coaxial cable assembly techniques; are connectors soldered or crimped on b if soldered, how, where b flush with end of connector or beyond the end of the connector?
Testing types (e.g. flexibility testing, reliability testing). Are there any standards that you verify or utilize to perform testing or to ensure adherence to a standard?

2.    Clearly state whether you are a seller or manufacturer of flexible or hand formable shielded RF coaxial cable in accordance with the attached specifications and referenced MIL Standards.

Additionally, for submissions to this market survey, include the following information:
(a)    Name, Cage Code and Address of your Company; URL of Company website (if applicable), and Point of Contact with telephone number and email address.
(b) State whether your company has and uses a Quality Assurance (QA) process?
(c) State whether your company is ISO certified? If yes, identify which certification.

6. Delivery of Submittals
Interested companies must submit their response to this market survey electronically to the Contracting Officer at veronica.anderson@faa.gov by no later than 2 PM (EST) on May 31, 2017. All questions regarding this market survey must be submitted via email to the Contracting Officer. No telephone calls will be accepted.

7. Attachments
The bRF Coax Specsb document details current and desired specifications and how it is to be used in the ASR-9 Radar.
