The U.S. Geological Survey, Geology, Minerals, Energy, and Geophysics (GMEG) Science Center, Menlo Park, CA intends to issue a non-competitive award to Geosep Services, Moscow, ID. The requirement is for apatite (AFT) and zircon (ZFT), and uranium-lead (U-Pb) geochronologic analysis.

Geosep Services is the only known company that provides all four of the requested services providing (1) apatite fission-track (AFT) dating, (2) zircon fission-track (ZFT) dating, (3) uranium-lead-zircon (U-Pb-zircon) dating using laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy (LA-ICPMS); and (4) creation of separates and concentrates of the minerals apatite and zircon from rock samples provided by the government, including picking and mounting of individual mineral grains in preparation for AFT, ZFT, and U-Pb LA-ICPMS analysis as described in the attached Statement of Work

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code - 541990 - All Other Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services and associated size standard $15.0 M applies to this announcement.

The USGS intends to make a non-competitive award to Geosep Services. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b) (2), FAR 13, and FAR 12. The anticipated contract will be firm fixed price award. A vendor must be registered at http://www.sam.gov to be awarded the contract.

The purpose of this notice is to satisfy the requirements of FAR Subpart 5.2. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, all responsible parties may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. No solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this action based upon responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government.

Quotations shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to nlushenko@usgs.gov. All documents required by this notice must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than August 27, 2018 at 1700 ET. Quotations submitted by hardcopy or the Fed Connect web portal or Fed Connect Message Center shall not be accepted or considered.
