The training simulator shall include a return fire “capability” that is integrated
with the simulator computer. The system must propel a .68 caliber hard nylon
ball (projectile) that is pneumatically launched by the return fire device. The
activation can be operated in a manual mode, but must be able to function
in the “integrated” mode causing the feature to activate at exact,
appropriate point(s) within the play of the training scenario(s). The return fire
capability shall be aimed by the instructor by the use of a joystick at the
instructor’s station. Aiming of this feature must be facilitated by a camera /
monitor and laser sight mounted on the launcher or a aiming point
referenced on the camera’s monitor. The return fire device shall operate in
three activation modes: single shot, three round burst, and full automatic.
“Non-integrated” return-fire systems are not acceptable & will cause bids to
be rejected.
