Fire Department Alerting System
The City is interested in obtaining proposals that will be used in the selection of a vendor capable of providing a Fire Station Alerting System; this includes the purchase and installation of hardware, software and implementation services for this system. The Alerting System(s) will need to interface with the Sungard OSSI CAD system utilized by Police Dispatch. The current CAD system is equipped with an active rip and run port. The desired fire station alerting system will communicate using TCP/IP over the Citys wide-area network. Access to any servers or system equipment is via Ethernet with PCs running Windows 2000 or XP. The Citys infrastructure is based on a Windows environment. Most Fire stations are connected to the Citys network either via T-1s or single-mode fiber. Wireless connectivity is obtained with Verizon EVDO and Radio communication is via an 800 MHz Digital Trunk Radio System using Motorola 2500 radios. The desired fire station alerting system must allow the stacking and simultaneous alerting of response units in order to speed up deployment of the first responders. It must also simultaneously broadcast the alert over the dispatch talk group.
