Fire Alarm System
The Carville Job Corps Center, a federal funding training facility located at 5465 Point Clair, Carville, LA 70721, is currently soliciting writing bids for a licensed contractor to provide a new fire alarm system including: an addressable fire alarm control panel, annunciator panel, smoke detector above the control panel, heat detector in the mechanical room, audio/visual devices, one (15cd) in the corridor, two (75cd) in the HBI shop, one (34cd) in each of two existing classrooms in the CNA classrooms, one visual device (15cd) in each of two public toilet rooms, four pull stations at building existing exits. The new fire alarm unit shall be addressable, with battery backup, type identical to the already existing on the site. At the fire alarm system location provide surge arrestor type EDCO HSP121BT-1RU or equal. Provide 350 LF of two 1" PVC conduit form the building fire alarm panel to the fire alarm panel in Building 5 with fiber optic communication cable by manufacturer requirements. Supply and return cable to be run in separate conduits. Locate the fire alarm panel at the instructor's office in the HBI shop and remote annunciator panel in the corridor near the entrance to the CNA classroom. Provide a 20A, 120V circuit from the nearest electrical panel (distribution outside) for the fire alarm panel. The new installation shall meet the requirements of the latest edition of NFPA 72, including complete testing and documentation as outline. A one year service and maintenance contract for testing, inspection and documentation in accordance with NFPA 72 shall be included along with a one year warranty period, and options for renewal for five years after the warranty period expires. Retain all documentation in accordance with code following the closeout and provide a copy of the warranty to the ESC.
All quotes must be submitted in writing to the Purchasing Department by July 28, 2014 by 4:00 p.m. Quotes received after the deadline and/or without all requested documentation will not be considered. Bid must be good for 90 days, after submissions. No partial bids will be accepted.
Vendor must submit a written bid on company letterhead to include scope of work CJCC 0721 at the top of each page. Vendor must provide licenses for doing business in the State of Louisiana, all employee licenses required for performing work in the state of Louisiana, certificate of liability insurance and list of references if no past experience with Carville Job Corps Center.
