SPT's current Financial Management System (FMS), has been in use for approximately 10 years and has went through various upgrades and integration's with third party products over that time. At present although most modules are fully integrated some are Microsoft and some are external stand-alone systems. Due to the growth of the system and the time since it was first implemented best practice dictates that it should be reviewed against the market for functionality as well as value for money. In addition, SPT currently uses a separate purchasing system with no integration between the core finance and purchasing system. As would be expected this limits the management information and functionality available from both systems.
